Many Kundalini Yoga teachers come from various other traditions of yoga or from a career in physical fitness and bodywork.
That is not my case.
I had tried classes of various forms of yoga in Europe and had never taken to it. As far as physical fitness, I had stopped practicing sports since completing high school at the age of 16.
I came to Kundalini Yoga simply as a person looking for a way to “get better”, to heal. [You can the full story by clicking “Read More” below] From the first class I felt that this yoga was different from anything else. Fairly rapidly, I realized Kundalini Yoga invites you to a journey inside your own world, allowing you to face your deepest issues, then gives you the tools to reestablish balance where there is dysfunction. Health, vitality and harmonious body image are but a few of the positive by-products of this process. I became fascinated with the technology because I was finally getting answers and practical tools that were helping me, after so many years of searching. From one Teacher Training program to another, I became a fully trained teacher without even realizing it, as I was still focused on my own story. At one point it dawned on me that nothing was more important but to pass the gift along, to “pay it forward”. To share with others the tools and knowledge that restored me to myself and freed me from the imprisonment of fate while reconnecting me with the freedom of a destiny.
As a KY teacher, my focus is to recreate the atmosphere of the sacred and safe space that enables students to get in touch with their innermost selves.
